As an artist who visually captures sensations, Moohyun Jo continuously seeks to validate the essence of the objects he portrays. His works investigates the intricate relationship between surface and interior, as well as the implicit trust in the invisible elements and the emotions they evoke. Jo is broadening his artistic horizons, exploring various mediums encompassing paintings, sculptures, and installations.
After graduating from BA Paintings at Hongik University, Moohyun Jo is currently pursuing his MFA at the Korea National University of Art. Based in Seoul, Jo has participated in various exhibitions at venues including Alternative Artspace IPO, Seoul (2018); ThisWeekendRoom, Seoul (2022); Mirrored Sphere Gallery, Seoul (2023); WWNN, Seoul (2023); and Every Art, Seoul (2023). In 2023, the artist held his debut solo exhibition, Allostasis Surface, at sangheeut.

조무현은 감각을 시각화하는 예술가로서 끊임없는 연구를 통해 시각화하는 대상의 당위를 찾아내고자 골몰하는 작가이다. 특히, 표면과 내면의 긴밀한 연관성과 보이지 않는 것에 대한 맹목적 믿음 혹은 그것이 견인하는 감정을 탐구하는 작품을 선보여왔다. 회화뿐만 아니라 조각, 설치 등 다양한 매체를 활용하며 본인만의 작품 세계를 구축해 나가고 있다.
조무현은 서울 대안예술공간 이포(2018); 서울 디스위캔드룸(2022); 서울 미러드 스피어 갤러리(2023); 서울 WWNN(2023); 서울 에브리아트(2023) 등 다수의 갤러리와 전시공간에서 개최된 단체전에서 작품을 선보인 바 있으며, 2023년 상히읗에서 작가의 첫번째 개인전 《신항상성 표면》을 개최했다.
